Congressional challenger Case Dixon calls on Gary Palmer to sign Epstein files petition

A congressional candidate urged his opponent to support a petition demanding the full release of Epstein files, calling it a moral imperative.

On Wednesday, U.S. Representatives Thomas Massie, R-Kentucky, and Ro Khanna, D-California, held a press conference on Capitol Hill alongside several survivors of notorious sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein to demand the complete release of the Epstein files by the Department of Justice.

Massie and Khanna have brought forward a discharge petition that, if signed by two more Republican legislators, would force a vote on their Epstein Files Transparency Act, requiring Attorney General Pam Bondi to release all DOJ files related to Epstein.

“The perpetrators are being protected because they’re rich and powerful and political donors to the establishment here in Washington, D.C.,” Massie said at Wednesday’s press conference.

While every congressional Democrat has signed onto the petition, only four Republicans have added their names so far. In addition to Massie, U.S. Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Georgia; Nancy Mace, R-South Carolina; and Lauren Boebert, R-Colorado, are the only other Republican signatories—leaving the petition two signatures short of forcing a vote.

Now, Case Dixon, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Alabama’s 6th District, is calling on his incumbent opponent, U.S. Representative Gary Palmer, R-Alabama, to join that list.

“This is not a partisan issue — it is a moral one,” Dixon said in an official press release on Wednesday. “The victims of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse have been denied justice for far too long. Every day Congress delays, powerful predators remain protected and survivors are denied closure. Money, power, and influence must never shield anyone from the full force of the law. No member of Congress should be complicit in a cover-up.”

Dixon explained that his call-to-action was inspired by the stories victims shared at Wednesday’s press conference of their abuse at the hands of Epstein and his collaborators.

“Hearing directly from these victims made it painfully clear: Congress cannot keep hiding behind politics and excuses,” Dixon stated. “These survivors deserve the truth, and they deserve closure. The time for action is now.”

“As the father of two young daughters, I find it shameful that members of my own party are looking the other way because they’re worried about backlash from powerful people or the GOP establishment,” he added. “If I were the representative for Alabama’s 6th District, I would sign this petition without hesitation. Congressman Palmer must forget the politics, forget the optics, and do the right thing. Justice is more important than protecting the powerful.”

Dixon did not shy away from criticizing President Trump either, bemoaning the administration’s claims that the public concern surrounding the Epstein files is a “hoax.” Critics have speculated that Trump himself, who had a public friendship with Epstein, could be implicated in the unreleased files.

“On this issue, the President is wrong,” Dixon stated. “Calling the Epstein revelations a hoax dishonors victims and minimizes real crimes. Republicans should be the voice of reason here, not the roadblock.”

Dixon concluded: “Justice delayed is justice denied. Congressman Palmer must decide—will he stand with the victims, or will he stand with the powerful?”
