Alabama Farmers Federation endorses Sen. Dan Roberts

The organization cited Roberts’s consistent support for conservative causes, including those vital to the state’s agricultural community.

State Sen. Dan Roberts

The Alabama Farmers Federation announced Tuesday its endorsement of Senator Dan Roberts for Alabama Senate District 15, which covers portions of Shelby, Jefferson and Talladega counties.

“Sen. Dan Roberts has a proven record of supporting conservative causes that represent this district and the people here, including our farmers,” said Phillip Hunter, Shelby County Farmers Federation president. “He knows this district well and will see to it that we get the best representation possible.”

Roberts has served in the Alabama Senate since 2018. He is a graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. in building construction. He worked for Blount International in Alabama, Korea and Saudi Arabia. He also has an M.S. in real estate development and urban affairs from Georgia State University. Roberts owns a real estate and sales development firm in Birmingham.

Roberts served with the Entrepreneurs Roundtable, Alabama Policy Institute, Young Business Leaders, Campus Outreach International and College Golf Fellowship.

“I am deeply honored to be endorsed by such a conservative organization as the Alabama Farmers Federation,” said Roberts. “We have much in common, including faith, family and the future of our state, so I look forward to continuing our work together.”

Roberts is married to the former Kelly Kolen. Together, they share seven children and 10 grandchildren. The Robertses are members of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an elder.

The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state’s largest farm organization with more than 365,000 members. It uses a grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Farmers Federation boards of directors for local elections.
