Manufacture Alabama announced Tuesday the election of four new members to its board of directors: Matt Greer (Nucor Steel), Heather Wilson (United Launch Alliance), Phil Fultz (ArcelorMittal Calvert) and David Fernandes (Mazda Toyota Manufacturing).
“These additions strengthen an already exceptional board, bringing valuable expertise and perspective as the association continues advancing the interests of manufacturers across Alabama and driving innovation in the industry,” Manufacture Alabama shared.
Matt Greer – Controller, Nucor Steel
Matt Greer has been with Nucor for more than 12 years and is currently the controller at their steel mill in Birmingham. Prior to Nucor, Matt held several positions with Walmart at their Bentonville, Ark. home office, as well as in public accounting and is a licensed CPA.
“Manufacture Alabama is a fantastic organization that has been a powerful voice for manufacturing within the state. I am deeply honored to be joining the board and look forward to helping achieve our vision of making Alabama the best location in the US for manufacturers,” said Greer.
Heather Wilson – Southern State Director, United Launch Alliance
Heather Wilson serves as the Southern State director at United Launch Alliance, ULA. She previously led Politically Correct Consulting for nearly a decade and directed client services at Main Street Strategies. Heather brings a strong background in strategic consulting and advocacy to her role.
“I am looking forward to serving on the board and advocating for the issues and legislation that have a direct impact on the manufacturing industry and our state’s economy,” said Wilson.
Phil Fultz – Chief Operations Officer, ArcelorMittal Calvert
Phil Fultz is responsible for all operational aspects of the facility which include safety, environment, engineering, capex, internal logistics, and operation and maintenance of all lines including all plant support equipment. Prior to ArcelorMittal, Phil held several positions with AK Steel Corporation.
“I am honored to serve on the Manufacture Alabama board and look forward to working closely with Jon and his team, as well as my fellow board members. Together, we have an important opportunity to strengthen Alabama’s manufacturing industry, share best practices, and support the continued growth of our state,” said Fultz.
David Fernandes – Senior Vice President, Mazda Toyota Manufacturing
David Fernandes oversees manufacturing and administration functions at MTM. With more than 26 years of experience at Toyota, he has held multiple leadership roles across four manufacturing plants and a global assignment in South Africa. He began his Toyota career in 1998 as a group leader at the West Virginia plant.
“It is my pleasure to join the Manufacture Alabama board. I plan to bring the perspective of operating a large manufacturing facility in Alabama, including our ‘team one’ companies representing more than 7,500 Alabama team members,” said Fernandes.
