Manufacture Alabama endorsed Matt Gentry on Tuesday in his campaign for the Alabama Public Service Commission, citing his “commitment to reliable infrastructure, affordable utility rates and economic growth.”

“Matt Gentry understands that competitive utility rates and modern infrastructure are essential for Alabama manufacturers to grow, invest and create jobs,” Jon Barganier, president of Manufacture Alabama, said. “As sheriff, Matt Gentry has proven he is boots on the ground, making sure systems work for the people they serve. That same hands-on leadership and accountability is exactly what Alabama needs on the Public Service Commission. He brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to public service, and we are proud to support him.”

Gentry thanked Barganier and Manufacture Alabama for their support and reaffirmed his priorities.

“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama and Jon Barganier,” Gentry said. “Manufacturers are the backbone of Alabama’s economy. As a commissioner, I will fight for low utility rates, dependable service and smart regulation. I also strongly support modern transportation and infrastructure initiatives that help move goods efficiently and keep Alabama competitive.”

Gentry pledged to work closely with manufacturers, utilities and communities to ensure Alabama “remains strong, affordable and open for business,” according to his campaign press release.
