Manufacture Alabama, a statewide trade association for manufacturers, announced Monday its endorsement of attorney Caroleene Dobson in her campaign for Alabama Secretary of State.
“Manufacture Alabama endorses Caroleene Dobson because of her deep commitment to Alabama, her proven record in the private sector, and her understanding of the issues affecting manufacturers across our state,” said Jon Barganier, president of Manufacture Alabama. “Caroleene has the experience, integrity and determination it takes to oversee Alabama’s business filings and elections process, and she will ensure that both are handled with the efficiency, fairness and transparency the people of Alabama deserve.”
Dobson, a lifelong Alabamian and native of Beatrice, practices real estate and commercial law at Maynard Nexsen, where she represents homebuilders, retailers, small business owners and landowners. Manufacture Alabama said her work protecting clients’ interests and achieving results reflects the qualities needed to lead the Secretary of State’s office.
In August, Dobson also received the backing of ProgressPAC, the political action committee affiliated with the Business Council of Alabama, adding to her growing list of endorsements from the business community.
“Alabama’s manufacturers represent the best of American industry, and the products and jobs they create are vital to our state’s economic resilience,” said Dobson. “I’m honored to have the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama and look forward to working with manufacturers to lower the cost of doing business and stand with President Trump to fight unfair trade practices so Alabama-made products can compete in markets worldwide.”
Dobson is running in the 2026 Republican primary against State Auditor Andrew Sorrell and Caleb Taylor. The seat will be open next year as current Secretary of State Wes Allen seeks the lieutenant governor’s office instead of reelection.
The Republican and Democratic primaries are scheduled for May 19, 2026, with a runoff, if necessary, on June 16, 2026.
The general election will take place on Nov. 3, 2026.
