Jay Mitchell leads attorney general race in October fundraising

Mitchell had a commanding $2 million in campaign cash on hand, with 98 percent from in-state donors.

Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell announced Tuesday a commanding $2,094,430.73 in campaign cash on hand, including $210,175 raised during the month of October. This month’s yield was again driven by Mitchell’s base of in-state support, as 98 percent of dollars were raised from conservative donors in Alabama.

The Mitchell campaign marked October as a milestone month. In addition to posting another strong fundraising number, Mitchell earned a wave of high-profile law enforcement endorsements from sheriffs and police chiefs across Alabama.

Jay Mitchell said, “October has been an incredible month for our campaign! Everywhere I go, I meet folks who want an Attorney General who is equipped to lead well and win for Alabama. Whether it’s law enforcement officers who spend each day in the line of duty, small business owners who power our economy, or families who want safer communities—voters across this state are ready for change. I’m inspired by their trust and support.”

Mitchell continues to lead with more than $2 million in cash on hand. “Notably, every dollar of the Mitchell campaign’s budget has been raised in full transparency, complying completely with both the letter and intent of Alabama Campaign Finance Law,” the campaign shared.

Mitchell said, “Alabamians are not fooled or intimidated by the dark money flooding into this race. To the contrary—they know this dark money is nothing more than a Trojan Horse for woke, anti-Trump operatives who want to own our state, and they are more energized than ever to elect an Attorney General who will serve the people of Alabama with integrity. They know that I’m their guy.”
