Bill Carr, the founder of one the nation’s leading accounting firms and for whom Troy University’s School of Accountancy is named, will deliver the keynote address at commencement exercises on the Troy Campus.
Some 725 graduates from 18 U.S. states and nine nations outside the United States are expected to participate in a 10 a.m. ceremony on December 12 in Trojan Arena. Tickets are required for attendance.
As the founder and former managing partner, William H. “Bill” Carr has led the Alabama-born Carr, Riggs & Ingram to become one of the fastest-growing accounting and advisory firms in the nation, experiencing consistent year-over-year growth since its inception in 1997.
The Enterprise native is a recognized and proven leader in the accounting industry, bringing his more than 40 years of business advisory and consulting business to the table, the University shared. Under his leadership, CRI rose to become the 19th nationally ranked accounting and advisory firm in 2018, according to leading industry publication Accounting Today.
Carr’s negotiation and mediation skills have proven critical throughout the firm’s history, helping the firm to leave its mark on the state of Alabama and the nation. He is now the managing partner of TROY’s CRI Portfolio Companies and chairman of the Executive Committee.
In 2022, TROY’s Sorrell College of Business and the University honored him by renaming the now- William H. Carr School of Accountancy.
