Democratic congressional hopefuls from across Alabama will gather at the state party headquarters Wednesday to promote what they call a unified, forward-looking agenda.
The 1 p.m. event at 501 Adams Ave. in Montgomery will feature Clyde Jones, candidate for the 1st District; Lee McInnis, 3rd District; Amanda Puszcek, 4th District; Andrew Sneed, 5th District; Keith Pilkington, 6th District; and Dakarai Larriett, who is running for the state’s open U.S. Senate seat.
“Decency, dignity and compassion aren’t just words; they are the Alabama values that define us,” Puszcek said. “It is time our politics lived up to the people they represent. Today, candidates from across the state are standing together to reject the status quo of division. We are united in our mission to build a more just, equitable, and opportunity-filled future for the state we call home.”
The candidates contend that many current policies are crafted by leaders who are out of touch with everyday residents.
“From the Wiregrass to the Rocket City, Alabamians feel the impact of policies that aren’t improving their lives, passed by politicians who don’t listen to them,” Sneed said. “I’m proud to join today with committed candidates from across Alabama who are fighting for a better political path forward for our great state in 2026.”
McInnis said voters deserve advocates “who will fight for them and not simply be in service to one political party or one single politician. We deserve better, and I’m running to represent ALL the people of the 3rd Congressional District.”
The slate’s shared message, they said, is “restoring confidence in government, lifting up communities across the state, and demonstrating that integrity and compassion still have a place in Alabama politics.”
