Mothers United Against Gun Violence will host its third Youth Violence Prevention Forum on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Birmingham Public Library Auditorium, the group announced this week.
The forum will include youth testimonies, moderated panel discussions, audience questions and answers, and a community resource spotlight focused on prevention strategies and support for young people and families.
Confirmed speakers include U.S. Senate candidate Dakari Larriett; Alabama Senate District 14 candidate Mandie Ledkins; Alabama Supreme Court associate justice candidate Ashleigh Dunham; Alabama secretary of state candidate Wayne Rogers; Jefferson County judge Place 7 candidate Hope Marshall; Alabama House District 60 candidate Alicia Escott Lumpkin; Alabama House member Phillip Ensler, a candidate for lieutenant governor; Jefferson County Circuit Judge Brian Huff; State House District 11 candidate Allan Thomas; and Alabama House member Kelvin Datcher of District 52.
Invited speakers, pending confirmation, include Alabama governor candidate Doug Jones and Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway.
