The Mobile Section of the Alabama Associated General Contractors hosted its 24th Annual Construction Safety Excellence Awards on April 9, 2026, at the Country Club of Mobile, honoring member companies with strong safety records in 2025.
More than 125 industry professionals attended the event, where organizers recognized 32 commercial, industrial and specialty contractors and suppliers from the Mobile area for their commitment to safety excellence.
The annual awards program recognizes AGC members that have developed and carried out strong safety and loss-prevention programs. The organization said those efforts reflect management leadership, employee training and innovative approaches to maintaining safe work environments across the construction industry.
Torrey Garrison of Performance Contractors, who also serves as a major and chaplain in the United States Air Force Reserve, attended the event and praised the award recipients for their commitment to high safety standards and workplace accountability.
In addition to the company awards, the Mobile Section presents an individual honor each year to a safety professional who demonstrates exceptional leadership. This year, the section awarded that honor to Connor Cole of Persons Services Corp. for his contributions to workplace safety.
“The Mobile Section of Alabama AGC remains committed to promoting safety excellence and supporting our members in creating safer, more productive job sites throughout the region,” Section Manager Carol Harris said.
The Alabama AGC Mobile Section also thanked the event’s sponsors, whose support allowed participants to attend the awards luncheon at no cost.
