Doug Jones to speak at community conversation in Birmingham

The Birmingham event will focus on voting rights, policy proposals and the governor’s race with local faith and civic leaders.

Former Senator Doug Jones will join Pastor Edward E. Rodgers and former Jefferson County Commissioner Sandra Little Brown on Thursday for a community conversation at Hopewell Baptist Church in Birmingham.

Jones and Rodgers will speak with church members, community residents and local activists about voting rights after the Callais decision, Jones’ proposed policies and the gubernatorial campaign.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church-Hillman Station, 4817 Jefferson Ave. S.W., Birmingham, Alabama 35221.
