U.S. House candidate Jerry Carl, R-Alabama, has received endorsements from the National Rifle Association and U.S. Representative Tim Burchett.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the National Rifle Association,” Carl said. “The right to bear arms is a fundamental freedom guaranteed by our Constitution, and I have always fought to defend that right. I vow to continue standing with Alabama’s hunters, sportsmen and gun owners while opposing any effort to infringe upon our Second Amendment liberties.”
Carl’s campaign said Burchett praised Carl’s “record of conservative leadership, his service on the House Appropriations and Armed Services committees, and his commitment to advancing President Donald Trump’s America First agenda.”
“I’m proud to support my buddy Jerry Carl,” Burchett said. “I hope he gets back to Congress—we really need him. He’s not one of those guys who’s out there talking all the time, but when he does say something, it makes good sense. Like the president, I’m for Jerry Carl.”
“I am humbled to receive the endorsement of my friend, Representative Tim Burchett,” Carl said. “Tim has accomplished a great deal to advance President Trump’s agenda in Congress, and I am grateful for his support. His endorsement is not only a vote of confidence in our campaign, but also in the people of Alabama’s 1st Congressional District. Together, I look forward to returning to Congress to fight for our conservative values while delivering real results for the families of south Alabama.”
The endorsements add to Carl’s coalition of support as he campaigns to return to Congress. Carl has also received Trump’s endorsement and the backing of conservatives across Alabama’s 1st Congressional District.
