The Alabama Political Reporter has a new website, with more ways to follow Alabama politics and keep up with the stories that matter to you.

The redesigned alreporter.com lets readers build a personal news feed, find their elected officials and save articles for later. You can also listen to stories and send the newsroom questions about what you read.

The new For You feed brings together APR coverage of the topics, reporters and elected officials you follow. If you regularly read a particular reporter or want to keep up with coverage of an official, select Follow. Related stories will appear in your feed.

"Follow what matters to you" above selectable topics, reporters and elected officials for APR's For You feed.
Follow topics, reporters and elected officials to bring related APR coverage into your For You feed.

You can still browse the latest news. For You gives you another way to find coverage based on your interests.

The officials directory helps answer a basic question that isn't always easy to resolve: Who represents me? Enter your address to find your elected officials, or browse the directory by office, district and party.

You can follow officials through the directory or their profile pages. Following an official adds APR stories associated with that person to your For You feed.

"Know who represents you" beside APR's elected officials directory, with an address search, legislative seat charts and a district map.
Enter your address to find your elected officials, or browse APR's directory by office, district and party.

We've also added ways to read and return to individual stories. Use Save to keep an article for later. Select Listen to hear a story read aloud, with an audio player that stays with you as you browse the site.

The site has light and dark themes. It can follow your device's setting, or you can choose the appearance you prefer.

Readers who want to discuss the news can sign in and comment on articles. A separate Questions tool lets you ask the newsroom about a story. If something needs more explanation or leaves you with a question, you can submit it alongside the reporting that prompted it.

For readers who prefer email, APR offers free newsletters with different schedules. The Day's Scoop arrives daily, The Weekly Roundup offers a weekly digest, and Top Stories arrives on weekday afternoons. Breaking news alerts go out as needed. Choose the emails you want to receive.

To get started, sign in or create a reader account and follow a few topics, reporters or officials. Then open For You to see your feed. You can also explore the officials directory or try the Listen button on an article.

Thank you for reading and supporting the Alabama Political Reporter. We look forward to hearing what you think of the new site.
