YR winter meeting will be February 10 and 11 in Huntsville

The winter meeting for the Young Republican Federation of Alabama will be on February 10 & 11 in Huntsville AL. Tuscaloosa Young Republicans Chairman Matt Hood said, “We would love to have as many of the YRs from Tuscaloosa as possible to join us for the meeting. If you are interested in attending, or have any questions about the event, please let me know.”

The YRFA wrote, “Please make plans to join your favorite YRs for our 2017 Winter Meeting in Huntsville, Alabama, February 10 – 11. Club chairmen, State committeemen, State committeewomen, and YRFA officers are required to attend; ALL YRs are encouraged to attend. Required to attend, but cant make it? Email YRFA Executive Director Haley Blankenship to get information on sending a proxy:

The Embassy Suites will serve as the official meeting hotel. YRFA Finance Chairman David Pinkleton has secured a special room rate of $114 for attendees who plan to come up on Friday for evening social events. This price includes complimentary beverages and cooked-to-order breakfast.

The Friday Night Welcome Reception is at 7:00 pm

The Saturday Business Meeting will include: guest speakers, YRFA officer reports, club updates, 2017 legislative agenda and more.

Benny Johnson, the Creative Director of Independent Journal Review, will be one of the keynote speakers at the Saturday luncheon. The cost of the event is $40 per person and includes light breakfast, meeting, and lunch.

Hood added, “Also, I would like to encourage you to attend the Tuscaloosa County Republican Party meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday. This is a great opportunity to see party politics in action. The meeting is at the Tuscaloosa County Extension System Auditorium. The auditorium’s address is 2501 7th Street Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401.The Auditorium is best entered from the large parking lot on the north side of 8th Street, and between the two Lurleen Walllace Boulevards. Finally, please mark your calendars for Thursday, February 9th. This will be our first meeting of 2017. We will meet at Hotel Capstone at 6:30. Please let me know if you have any questions.”
