Sweet Grown Alabama, the state’s new agricultural branding initiative, is excited to welcome Alabama Ag Credit as a founding member of the program.

“Our board and team of employees are thrilled to be a part of this new initiative”, said Doug Thiessen, CEO of Alabama Ag Credit.  “We exist to serve agriculture and rural Alabama, and by being a founding member of this initiative, we can demonstrate our strong support for the producers in our state while encouraging consumers to do likewise.”

As a first-year founding member, Alabama Ag Credit will be recognized by the non-profit for the duration of the program. Funds will be utilized to encourage the purchasing of locally-grown products through traditional and digital marketing. Member farmers, restaurants and stores will be listed in an online searchable database coming spring 2020.

“Alabama Ag Credit is critical in connecting Alabama farmers and families through our brand as a founding member,” said Ellie Watson, Sweet Grown Alabama Director. “This program is built on partnerships, and the outstanding support from Alabama Ag Credit allows Sweet Grown Alabama to better serve Alabama producers and consumers.”
