The Young Republican Federation of Alabama (YRFA) held its State Committee Meeting on Saturday, June 1, 2024, to provide updates to the State Executive Committee on the overall health of the club and to conduct new business.

“I’m so proud of and grateful for the Young Republicans from around the state giving up a weekend to handle the business of our Federation,” said State Chairman Stephanie Petelos Nabavian. “We were able to welcome a brand new club into the Federation in Mobile County, and we believe they’re going to be a great asset to the YRFA”.

Nabavian continued to say, “We also elected two new Congressional District Vice Chairman, Cedric Coley (CD2), and Daniel Ceci (CD5). The future is looking bright for us as we continue to work towards the Federation’s mission of recruiting, training, and electing the next generation of Republicans”, Nabavian concluded.

Several speakers were also in attendance at the meeting. State Representatives Brock Colvin, R–Albertville, and Mike Shaw, R–Hoover, Alabama Associate Supreme Court Justice, Jay Mitchell, Apryl Marie Fogel, President of AM Solutions, radio host, and 1819 reporter, and Alabama Attorney General, Steve Marshall all spoke to the YRFA State Executive Committee.

The YRFA also completed a service project during the State Committee Meeting. Community Blood Center, Lifesouth was present to receive blood donations from Alabama Young Republicans. “Thank you to the Young Republican Federation of Alabama and Chair, Stephanie Petelos Nabavian, for having LifeSouth out for your Biannual State Committee Meeting. We provide 80 percent of the blood to Alabama hospitals and medical facilities, with summer being our lowest months, so it was wonderful for the YRFA to have us out. They went six donors over our projected goal, saving over 60 lives! They had great attitudes and great participation!” Paige Howard, Community Development Coordinator

The YRFA’s next State Committee Meeting will be held on October 4-6 in Mobile County.
