Sen. Katie Britt

Sen. Katie Britt, R-Alabama, accepted the “2025 U.S. Metalcasting Industry Congressional Champion” award from the American Foundry Society. This award recognizes a member of Congress who has demonstrated support for the metalcasting industry on national issues.

“It’s an honor to receive the 2025 U.S. Metalcasting Industry Congressional Champion award from the American Foundry Society,” Britt said. “I’m proud to be a strong partner in advancing the metalcasting industry, which is central to growing our economy, modern infrastructure, and national defense. This recognition is especially meaningful to me because it reflects the vital role that Alabama plays in fueling our nation’s manufacturing capabilities. I’ll continue to fight for policies that empower hardworking Americans, strengthen our communities, and power a powerful new era of Made in America excellence.”

“Senator Britt has demonstrated incredible leadership in advocating for pro-growth policies that benefit American metalcasters and workers,” said Doug Kurkul, CEO of the American Foundry Society. “Metalcasters across the country appreciate her strong commitment to economic opportunity, national security, and industry growth.”

This award was presented at the AFS Government Affairs Fly-In in Washington, D.C. In addition to AFS, McWane, Inc., AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe, and Alabama metalcasters recognized Britt for her leadership in manufacturing and trade.
