Hundreds gathered in Montgomery Saturday morning carrying signs to denounce the presidency of Donald Trump.
That gathering was just one of many all across the state from Huntsville to Mobile, including communities as small as Dadeville, joining an estimated 4 to 12 million across the country who demonstrated as part of the “No Kings” protest.
An estimated 5,000 people marched in Birmingham as part of the protest.

“If you’re afraid — you should be. The America we have known is slipping away right in front of us,” organizers in Birmingham said. “But don’t let fear paralyze you. Let it motivate you to join us. Our numbers are growing daily with everyday citizens who are fed up and fighting back. We are fighting back together.”

The protests coincided with Flag Day, and also Trump’s birthday and his planned military parade celebrating 250 years of the U.S. Army.
There were no known reports of violence or clashes with law enforcement at any of Saturday’s protests at the time of publication.
