ALGOP Chief of Staff Shannon Whitt praised Rep. Almond’s contributions to the legislature and congratulated her on the new role saying, “Representative Cynthia Almond has been an outstanding legislator, consistently advancing thoughtful and impactful legislation that has benefitted not only her district but the entire state. While we will certainly miss her leadership in the Alabama House, we are confident she will bring the same dedication and excellence to the Public Service Commission. We congratulate her on this well-earned appointment and look forward to the work she will do on behalf of the people of Alabama.”

Whitt also reaffirmed the Party’s dedication to ensuring conservative representation in the district adding, “House District 63 deserves a representative who will champion the conservative principles that matter most to our communities. The Alabama Republican Party is fully committed to supporting candidates who are ready to serve with integrity, defend our shared values, and deliver real results for the people of Tuscaloosa County.”
