Jeff Monroe, a longtime public servant and community leader from Five Points in northern Chambers County, has officially announced his candidacy for Alabama House of Representatives, District 37. This district includes all of Randolph County, portions of Chambers County, including LaFayette, as well as parts of Opelika and unincorporated Lee County.
With over 45 years of experience in public safety and more than two decades in local government, Monroe says he brings a deep commitment to service and a proven record of leadership to the race.
“I am proud and excited to announce my candidacy for the Republican nomination for House District 37,” Monroe said. “My entire career has been devoted to serving the public—whether through emergency response, community safety, or local government leadership.”
Reflecting on his decades of experience, Monroe emphasized the values that unite Alabamians across all communities. “Throughout my 45 years as a firefighter and paramedic, I’ve worked in both rural and urban communities,” he said. “And what I’ve seen firsthand is that, no matter where people live, they share the same basic hopes and needs: To feel safe in their community, to prepare their children for future success, and to have job opportunities that allow them to support their family.”
“If elected, I will work tirelessly to represent the people of House District 37 with honesty, transparency, and accountability,” Monroe said. “My goal is to improve the quality of life for every family in our district—and I humbly ask for your support and your prayers as we begin this journey together.”
Monroe says his campaign is centered on four key priorities: strengthening public safety, supporting education, expanding workforce development, and investing in infrastructure. He believes these pillars are essential to creating a strong foundation for Alabama’s future.
He also expressed his appreciation to current Representative Bob Fincher for his years of faithful service to the district.
Jeff and his wife, Cindy Tubbs Monroe, have lived in Chambers County since 2001. They are the proud parents of Carlie Tubbs Price and Emile Monroe Milam, sons-in-law Nick Price and Brandon Milam, and grandparents to Emma and Leigha Anthony, Cooper, Marli, and Sophie Price, and Sarah, Jace, and John Milam. The Monroes attend Church of the Highlands in Opelika.
Over the next month, Monroe says he will be hosting a campaign kick-off in Chambers, Randolph and Lee Counties.
