The Alabama Farmers Federation on Thursday announced its endorsement of Senator Chris Elliott for Alabama Senate District 32, which covers Baldwin County.
“Sen. Elliott is as hard working as anyone in the Legislature,” said Hope Cassebaum, president of the Baldwin County Farmers Federation. “He has a strong work ethic and has worked well with the farmers of this district on conservative issues important to us.”
After graduating from St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Mobile, Elliott received his bachelor’s degree in political science and urban policy from the University of Richmond in Virginia.
In the Senate, Elliott is chairman of the County and Municipal Government Committee, vice chairman of the State Governmental Affairs Committee and a member of the Judiciary; Finance and Taxation General Fund; Tourism; Banking and Insurance; Joint Transportation; Oil and Gas Study; and Contract Review committees. He serves on the Energy Council, Space Authority, Aerospace and Defense Caucus, and National Conference of State Legislatures.
“The Farmers Federation and I share the same work ethic and conservative values, and I am honored by their continued support,” said Elliott. “Together, there are great things we can do for Baldwin County.”
Elliott and his wife of 20 years, Alainna, have two children and reside in Josephine. They attend St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Bon Secour.
The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state’s largest farm organization with more than 365,000 members. It uses a grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Federation boards of directors for local elections.
