Representative Chad Robertson, R-Heflin, announced the launch of his reelection campaign Tuesday. He currently represents House District 40, which includes parts of Calhoun and Cleburne counties.

“It has been my honor to serve the people of this district,” Robertson said. “We have successfully reduced the state tax on groceries, completely eradicated the state tax on baby diapers and formula and reduced the tax burden on seniors. All in all, we have saved Alabamians more than $170 million and I’m proud of the relief those efforts provided to hardworking Alabama families.”

Alabama Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter appointed Robertson to serve on several legislative committees, including the Military and Veterans Affairs committee, the Economic Development and Tourism committee, the Constitution, Campaigns and Elections committee and the Permanent Joint Legislative Committee on Energy Policy.

Robertson was first elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2022, where he received more than 80 percent of the vote. The primary election will take place on May 19, 2026.
