The team brings together a diverse group of leaders from business, education, public safety, economic development, infrastructure and civic life who share a deep commitment to the city and its residents.

“I am excited to introduce this outstanding group of individuals who will help guide Hoover during this important transition,” said Mayor-Elect Derzis. “Each member brings expertise, vision, and a genuine dedication to our community. The Transition Team will focus on key areas including education and workforce development, public safety, economic growth, infrastructure, fiscal accountability, parks and recreation, and quality of life. Their work will ensure that the new administration is ready on day one to deliver results and uphold the highest standards of service for Hoover’s citizens.

The group held its first meeting on Wednesday, September 3, and is already at work on behalf of the people of Hoover, “laying the foundation for a smooth and productive start to the new administration,” the Team shared.

Leading the overall Transition Team is Chairman Michael J. Davis, with B.J. Ellis serving as vice chairman. Legal counsel is being provided by Charlie Waldrep, Esq.

Kermit Kendrick will head the education and workforce development committee, joined by Dr. Jennifer Hogan, Craig Kelley, Dr. Tyler Burgess and Elizabeth Tanner.
