Alabama Farmers Federation endorses Rep. Troy Stubbs

“He is a conservative who knows the importance of agriculture to our district,” Elmore County federation president Richard Edgar said.

The Alabama Farmers Federation announced Wednesday its endorsement of Representative Troy Stubbs for Alabama House District 31, which covers parts of Elmore County.

“Rep. Stubbs has served us well in Montgomery and at home,” said Richard Edgar, Elmore County Farmers Federation president. “He is a conservative who knows the importance of agriculture to our district, and we are proud to endorse him.”

Stubbs has a B.S. in finance from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Louisville. He also has a master’s in secondary mathematics from Alabama State University. Stubbs is a financial advisor at First Community Bank of Central Alabama.

Prior to serving in the Legislature, Stubbs was elected chairman of the Elmore County Commission, where he served for six years. He participates in multiple civic and charitable organizations such as coaching youth sports and working to support the Elmore County HIPPY Program, the Elmore County Food Pantry and Camp Hope. He also serves on the advisory boards of Ingram State Technical College, Main Street Wetumpka and Wetumpka YMCA.

“I am proud to be endorsed by an organization that is as conservative as I am,” said Stubbs. “Together, we can focus on preserving conservative principles and growing small businesses.”

Stubbs and his wife, Jenny, have four children. They attend the Wetumpka congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state’s largest farm organization with more than 365,000 member families. It uses a grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Farmers Federation boards of directors for local elections.
