The Petroleum and Convenience Marketers Association of Alabama, P&CMA, announced Monday its endorsement of Jack Williams in his campaign for Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.
P&CMA represents hundreds of small business owners across Alabama’s petroleum and convenience marketing industry. The group pointed to Williams’ proven record of advancing pro-business policies and his understanding of how the fuel and agriculture sectors work simultaneously to keep Alabama’s economy strong.
“Jack understands our industry and the vital role Alabama’s fuel suppliers play in agriculture,” said Rex Jones, chair of the P&CMA Board of Directors. “We are confident he will continue strengthening the connection between energy, farming, and rural economies as Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.”
Williams, a fourth-generation farmer and current state senator from Mobile County, and his wife, Bobbie, own and operate a family-run farm with cattle, timber and hay production, as well as a nursery business that ranks among the largest in the nation.
“The petroleum and convenience industry keeps our farms running, our supply chains moving, our rural communities supported, and Alabama supplied with reliable fuel,” Williams said. “As Commissioner of Agriculture, I’ll make sure agriculture and industry work hand in hand with business owners across Alabama to strengthen our economy and protect the livelihoods of those who feed and fuel our nation.”
“I am honored to have P&CMA’s trust and support, and I look forward to working alongside them to keep creating opportunities for families and businesses across our state,” Williams said.
This is the second major endorsement for Williams’ campaign. In June, the Alabama Forestry Association announced its support. Williams also leads the race in fundraising, with $505,467.31 cash on hand.
