Rhett Marques announces campaign raised more than $500,000 in less than two months

Marques’s campaign raised over $500,000 in under two months.

Alabama State Rep. Rhett Marques, R-District 91. Rhett Marques

Representative Rhett Marques announced Tuesday that his campaign has raised more than $500,000 since he announced his bid to become Alabama’s next Republican congressman. Marques, who is running for the 1st congressional district seat being vacated by Representative Barry Moore, launched his campaign less than two months ago.

“I am grateful for the outpouring of support I have received from across the district,” Marques said, noting that the vast majority of his donors are Alabama residents. “Most of our donors live in Alabama and that shows my message of going to Washington D.C. to support President Trump, Senator Britt and the entire Republican congressional delegation is resonating with voters from the coast to the wiregrass.”

Marques’ Congressional bid has received public support from Sen. Britt, Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter, 33 members of the Alabama House Republican caucus, State Senator Donnie Chesteen and the Petroleum and Convenience Marketers Association of Alabama.

Marques, a lifelong Republican, was born and raised in Baldwin County and spent 24 years as a small business owner in Coffee County. He currently serves in the Alabama House of Representatives.

The Republican primary election will be held on May 19, 2026.
