Alabama Farmers Federation endorses Rep. James Lomax for HD20

The state’s largest farm organization announced Wednesday it had “complete confidence” Lomax would remain a strong conservative voice in Montgomery.

State Rep. James Lomax

The Alabama Farmers Federation announced Wednesday its endorsement of Representative James Lomax for Alabama House District 20 in Madison County. The district covers southeast Huntsville.

“Rep. Lomax works hard and represents the people of this district well,” said Charles Butler, president of the Madison County Farmers Federation. “We have complete confidence he will continue to be a strong conservative voice for us in Montgomery as he has been in the past.”

Lomax is a lifelong resident of Madison County. He graduated from Grissom High School and received his B.A. from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He later received a master’s degree from Lipscomb University.

Lomax serves as vice president of Corporate Office Properties Trust, where he has helped develop more than 1 million square feet of commercial space in north Alabama.

In the House of Representatives, Lomax serves on the Economic Development and Tourism; Ethics and Campaign Finance; Financial Services; Ports, Waterways and Intermodal Transit; and Rules committees.

“I appreciate the support of Madison County farmers because we share the same conservative values and principles,” said Lomax. “Agriculture is a vital component to our state’s economic success, and it is an honor to have the support of our farmers in Madison County.”

Lomax and his wife, Elizabeth, have two daughters and reside in Huntsville. They attend Trinity Baptist Church in Madison.
