The Alabama Farmers Federation announced last Friday its endorsement of Representative Ben Harrison for House District 2, which covers portions of Lauderdale and Limestone counties.
“Rep. Harrison is a conservative’s conservative,” said Colt Clemmons, president of the Lauderdale County Farmers Federation. “We have complete confidence he will continue to be a conservative voice for farmers and all the people of House District 2 in Montgomery.”
Limestone County farmers also expressed appreciation and support.
“Rep. Harrison has worked hard for us in Montgomery and at home. We are proud to support his reelection campaign,” said Jerry Allen Newby, president of the Limestone County Farmers Federation. “He is a strong conservative legislator, and we are proud to endorse his reelection because we know he will continue his good work.”
Harrison received his chemical engineering degree from Auburn University. His career was spent as the technical control manager for the Kohler Company in Huntsville.
Prior to his service in the House of Representatives, Harrison served on the Limestone County Commission from 2012-2020. He was elected as a Trump delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2020 and served as a Trump alternate delegate in 2024.
“The support of the farmers is important to me because we share the same conservative values and ideals,” said Harrison. “Agriculture is an important part of our state’s economic success, and it is an honor to be endorsed by the farmers of this district.”
Harrison and his wife, Beth, share four children and six grandchildren. They attend Refuge Church in Athens.
The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state’s largest farm organization with more than 360,000 member families. It uses a grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Farmers Federation boards of directors for local elections.
