One day after officially announcing his candidacy for lieutenant governor of Alabama, John Wahl announced a historic, record-breaking campaign launch—raising more than $1 million in the first day of his campaign, the largest day-one fundraising total ever reported in an Alabama lieutenant governor race.
The milestone fundraising haul reflects widespread support for Wahl’s conservative record, policy priorities and vision for Alabama’s future.
“This isn’t just about a number—it’s about what that number represents,” Wahl said. “Alabamians are ready for bold, proven conservative leadership that will defend our Constitution, protect our God-given rights, rein in government overreach, and put hardworking families first. This early support shows that people know I will deliver—and that I won’t back down.”
Wahl said his campaign for lieutenant governor is centered on building the economy, fiscal responsibility, and defending the rights and freedoms of every single individual.
The record-setting launch follows Wahl’s recent endorsement from President Trump and comes amid growing enthusiasm from grassroots conservatives, business leaders and Republican donors across the state.
President Trump called John Wahl “a true MAGA warrior and America First patriot,” and finished his statement with, “Should he decide to enter this Race, John Wahl has my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, JOHN, RUN!”
With the 2026 election cycle just heating up, Wahl’s campaign enters the race with strong momentum and a rapidly expanding statewide organization.
“John Wahl has already proven he can lead,” said a campaign spokesperson. “This historic launch shows that Alabamians are ready to send a Lieutenant Governor to Montgomery who will fight unapologetically for freedom, faith, and the future of this state.”
With record-breaking fundraising, a strong statewide organization and a clear conservative agenda, the Wahl campaign said it’s entering the lieutenant governor’s race with momentum that sets it apart from the field.
