The Alabama Department of Workforce will host a state agency job fair Thursday, February 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, partnering with the Alabama Personnel Department, WSFA News and the City of Montgomery.

Now in its second year, the event aims to boost hiring across multiple state agencies. More than 1,200 job seekers attended last year.

“This is a wonderful partnership between state agencies to address an issue that many around the state are facing,” said Greg Reed, secretary of the Alabama Department of Workforce. “Last year’s event was a great success, and many of our state agencies gained outstanding new employees. We hope to have an even more successful event this year. We remain thankful for the cooperation and partnership exhibited during this event.”

As agencies continue to register, job seekers can view a full list of participating agencies and open positions online. The job fair is free. Organizers encourage both job seekers and agencies to preregister online, though staff will offer on-site registration for job seekers.

Applicants should bring multiple copies of their résumés, dress professionally and prepare for on-site interviews. Organizers will provide interview space. Staff from the Alabama Career Center System will attend to help job seekers apply for positions.

People with disabilities who need accommodations to participate should call the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services at 334-293-7500. The facility is accessible, and buses and vans are welcome. The Multiplex at Cramton Bowl is located at 220 Hall Street in Montgomery.
