Flags to be flown at half-staff for fallen Monroe County sheriff’s deputy

Tuesday, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey (R) ordered that flags across Alabama be flown at half-staff in memory of Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Julius Dailey who was killed in an automobile crash in the line of duty.

“I am directing flags be flown at half-staff as a mark of respect for Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Julius Dailey, who was killed in a crash while responding to a call Tuesday, June 11, 2019,” Ivey announced. “Deputy Daily’s life was taken far too soon. It was said that he was a man who could always “light up the room.”

“Let us remember the service and life of Deputy Daily. We offer our deepest thoughts and prayers to his three-year-old daughter and loved ones,” Ivey stated.

“The flags should be flown at half-staff until sunset on Sunday, June 16, 2019,” Gov. Ivey concluded.

Deputy Dailey is the fourth Alabama law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty this year.
