Mobile Police officers found not criminally liable in Jawan Dallas’ death

On July 2, Dallas died following an encounter with police during which he was tased multiple times.

Several individuals questioned how police were able to make claims given the supposed secrecy of grand jury evidence.

Jawan was killed on July 2 after being stopped and tased by Mobile Police Department officers.

Despite calls and claims of being transparent, the department still has not released the identities of the cops involved in Dallas's death.

The Mobile Police Department and city attorney have said the footage won't be released as long as an active investigation is ongoing.

Jawan Dallas was a 36-year-old Black man tased by officers with the Mobile Police Department on July 2 and died following the tasing.

Dallas’s family has demanded transparency and accountability from MPD, calling for the release of body cam footage.
