MONTGOMERY–Tuesday evening, Dimitri Polizos won the republican primary runoff with Charlotte Meadows with more than 50 percent of the 75 percent of the votes counted.
This heated race was for the seat in HD 74 to replace the resigning Jay Love.
Charlotte Meadows was the Mike Hubbard, Michelle Rae chosen candidate in the race.
Meadows faced multiple allegations during her tenure at LEAD, ranging from mismanagement, alleged fraud.
If actually serving the constituency is an issue voters care about, there's a clear choice in House District 74.
The candidates pledge to increase availability of mental health services, expand youth mental health services and improve crisis response.
Among other speakers, Rep. Kenneth Paschal, R-Pelham, spoke about being the first African American elected as a Republican since Reconstruction.
