This Christmas, the American people received a gift that isn’t found underneath the tree but will be found in your pocketbook and paychecks over the coming years. I’m talking about passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act represents the first major overhaul of our nation’s tax code since 1986. The ultimate goal is to grow the American economy and put more money in your pockets. I firmly believe the money is better off in the hands of the American people instead of in the coffers of a bloated federal government.

Roby: Tax reform represents a “tremendous opportunity to move this country ahead”

Thursday, September 28, 2017, Congressional Republicans unveiled their highly-anticipated tax reform plan. U.S. Representative Martha Roby, R-Montgomery, attended the House GOP summit to discuss the joint House, Senate, and White House plan to overhaul the nation’s complicated tax code. Roby explained the basics of the tax reform legislation set to be considered in the House over the next few weeks.  Roby said that tax reform represents a tremendous opportunity to move this country ahead and will allow you to keep more of your money.

Greene County’s Burden

MONTGOMERY—What began as a war on bingo by former Gov. Bob Riley, was rooted in power, politics and greed, with both sides claiming legal and even moral authority over what constitutes legal or illegal bingo in the Alabama.

The latest episode in this much-sordid affair is the State Supreme Court’s intervention in a lower court’s ruling, concerning the legality of machines played at Greenetrack in Greene County.
