Rep. Sewell to host virtual discussion on Voting Rights Act anniversary

On Tuesday, August 6 at 3 p.m. CDT, in observance of the 59th anniversary of the signing of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, AL-07, will host a “Terri Talks” virtual discussion entitled “Our Vote is our Voice.” Joining Rep. Sewell will be Dee Reed, Alabama’s State Organizing Manager for Black Voters Matter. The virtual discussion will focus on the power of the vote and the importance of grassroots organizing, voter mobilization, and youth engagement.
