Kristin Nelson launches campaign for House District 38

Nelson said her campaign is focused on public safety, economic growth, educational freedoms, and lower taxes for working families.

Kristin Nelson

Kristin Nelson has officially entered the race for Alabama House District 38, launching her campaign with a commitment to strengthen public safety, support local communities through economic growth, defend educational freedoms and lower taxes for working families.

“As someone who grew up on the Chambers-Lee County line, I know firsthand our district is full of hard-working families who are doing everything right, but still struggling to get ahead,” Nelson said. “We need more good-paying jobs, safer neighborhoods and schools, and to continue to protect our educational freedoms. We also need to ease the financial burden on families by lowering taxes and ensuring that the government works for the people – not the other way around.”

Nelson outlined her campaign priorities as follows:

  • Creating Job Opportunities: Supporting local businesses and attracting new industries to grow the local economy and increase wages.

  • Fighting Crime: Partnering with law enforcement and community organizations to reduce crime and ensure public safety, especially for children.

  • Improving Education: Investing in public schools, supporting teachers and providing every child the tools to succeed, while also protecting the freedoms of families who choose alternative educational paths.

  • Lowering the Tax Burden: Advocating for tax relief policies that put more money back in the pockets of working families.

Nelson emphasized her desire to be “a strong voice and leader for State House District 38 – one who is ready to roll up her sleeves and go to work alongside the hard-working people of the communities that she loves.”
