The Alabama Farmers Federation announced Tuesday its endorsement of Representative David Standridge for House District 34 in Blount County.
“We are proud to endorse Rep. Standridge because he has a proven record of excellence in serving this district. We know he will continue to do the same in the future,” said Jeff Maze, president of the Blount County Farmers Federation. “He is accessible and attentive to our needs as farmers, and we appreciate his interest in agriculture and our district as a whole.”
Standridge received his associate degree in criminal justice from Wallace State Community College and his undergraduate degree in justice studies from Athens State University. He attended the FBI National Academy and the Montgomery Police Academy.
Prior to serving in the Legislature, Standridge was probate judge and chairman of the Blount County Commission. He is a retired captain from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office. Standridge also participates in civic and charitable organizations throughout House District 34.
“The farmers of this district share the same work ethic and conservative values I do,” said Standridge. “It is an honor to have their endorsement as we continue to work with them to make this district the best it can be.”
Standridge and his wife, Danna, have been married 43 years. They both grew up on farms and still raise cattle in Blount County. They have three children and five grandchildren. They are active members of First Baptist Church of Hayden.
The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state’s largest farm organization with more than 360,000 member families. It uses a grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Farmers Federation boards of directors for local elections.
