Governor Kay Ivey on Tuesday announced 26 appointments across Alabama, including Baldwin County District Judge J. Langford Floyd.

Ivey appointed Floyd, of Fairhope, to serve as district judge in the 28th Judicial Circuit in Baldwin County. He is a graduate of Troy State University, the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada. Floyd succeeds Ashley Siebert, whom Ivey previously appointed to the Baldwin County Circuit Court.

“Judge Lang Floyd is well known to Baldwin County for his two decades of previous service in the 28th Judicial Circuit as a judge in both District and Circuit Court,” Ivey said. “His record of jurisprudence is well known throughout the state, and I am pleased he has agreed to return to the bench after retirement to serve the people of Baldwin County.”

“I am honored that Governor Ivey has given me this opportunity to serve the citizens of Baldwin County once again,” Floyd said. “I look forward to working with the lawyers, judges, court staff and most importantly, the people of Baldwin County to provide the access to justice that our citizens deserve.”
