Rep. Sewell to discuss federal cuts in Wilcox County

Sewell is hosting a community conversation in Camden about federal cuts to vital services.

U.S. Representative Terri Sewell, D-Alabama, will continue her annual Congress in Your Community tour on Monday, November 24, with a community conversation in Camden.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. CST at the Gee’s Bend Ferry Terminal, 1001 Earl Hilliard Road.

Sewell will be joined by community leaders to discuss the impact of federal cuts to health care, education, food assistance and other vital services. Participants are scheduled to include:

  • Jessica C. McGraw, CEO and administrator of John Paul Jones Hospital
  • Dr. Michael McNabney, Cahaba Medical Care
  • Andre’ Saulsberry, superintendent of Wilcox County Schools
  • Ryan Johnson, executive director of the Selma Area Food Bank
  • Mattie Dennis, chair of the Wilcox County Water and Sewer District

Sewell visits every county in Alabama’s 7th Congressional District annually as part of the tour.
