Senate candidate Rodney Walker donates $2,250 to local families in Clay County. RODNEY WALKER FOR U.S. SENATE

Businessman and U.S. Senate candidate Rodney Walker is celebrating Thanksgiving this year by donating $2,250 to support local families in Clay County.

Partnering with local churches and Perryland Foods Grocery Store in Lineville, Walker’s donation will provide essential groceries and holiday staples to 20 families in need for the holiday season.

“This holiday season, kindness found a beautiful expression in our community. I donated $2,250 to support Perryland Foods and Clay County families in need, helping ensure that no table goes without food and no family feels alone during this special time of year,” Walker said of the donation.

“While this gift is significant, those who know Walker understand that his generosity is nothing new,” Walker’s campaign added in an official press release. “Throughout his life, he has quietly stepped in to help, support, and uplift others, never seeking recognition or praise. This latest act of giving is simply another reflection of the compassion and humility that have long defined his service to the community.

“Walker’s gift is a reminder that even in challenging times, hope grows when neighbors look out for one another.”

An Alabama native and owner of multiple businesses in the state, Walker is one of five Republican candidates running to succeed U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, R-Alabama, in the U.S. Senate. U.S. Representative Barry Moore, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson, and Tuberville’s former national security adviser Morgan Murphy are the other GOP candidates currently in the race.

The Republican primary for U.S. Senate is set for May 19, 2026.
