U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Alabama, last Friday celebrated the appointment of five Alabamians to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency State Committee.

Shep Morris, Wallace Drury, Billy Hixon, Mike Reeves and Mykel Taylor were appointed to serve on Alabama’s FSA committee, “bringing decades of experience, expertise and community engagement to their new roles,” Britt’s press release shared.

These members were appointed by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins following recommendations from Britt. The FSA State Committee plays an important role for Alabama farmers by overseeing farm programs, maintaining cooperative relationships with industry stakeholders and supporting agricultural communities across the state.

“I’m proud to celebrate these incredible Alabamians, who bring an unmatched depth of knowledge to serve our farmers across Alabama,” Britt said. “Their unique backgrounds, representing a wide range of agricultural sectors, which will ensure farmers across our state are served exceptionally well. I’m thankful to President Trump, Secretary Rollins, and FSA Administrator Bill Beam for appointing these tremendous Alabamians, and I look forward to seeing all they accomplish for our state.”
