The Electric Cooperatives of Alabama Political Action Committee announced Monday its endorsement of Wes Allen for lieutenant governor of Alabama.

“Wes Allen brings a level of discipline and work ethic that stands out in state government,” said Karl Rayborn, CEO of the Alabama Rural Electric Association of Cooperatives. “He understands how sound policy decisions affect critical infrastructure like electric cooperatives, and we are confident he will continue to work tirelessly to support reliable service and responsible governance across Alabama.”

After nearly a decade of service as Pike County probate judge and a term representing District 89 in the Alabama House of Representatives, Allen currently serves as Alabama’s 54th secretary of state.

“Living in rural Alabama, I know how important Alabama’s electric cooperatives are in keeping the power on,” Allen said. “They provide the critical infrastructure that allows our state to prosper. They work hard to deliver energy to our homes, businesses and farms, braving terrible weather and dangerous circumstances to keep Alabamians connected. I am grateful for their support.”

Alabama’s electric cooperatives said this endorsement reflects their collective support and underscores their commitment to strengthening rural communities and advancing progress.
