Woody Harrelson is amazing as Lyndon Baines Johnson in the just-released movie LBJ.

I’m afraid this movie may not have legs. It’s showing in one theater in Birmingham, and my wife and I attended the Saturday afternoon matinee with maybe a dozen other people.

That aside, everybody should see this movie. I know LBJ isn’t on anybody’s radar these days. We have Trump, mass killings, and so much other stuff to occupy us.

Roby and Sewell Promote Congressional Gold Medal Bill for Selma Marchers

On Wednesday, February 13, US Representatives Martha Roby (R-Montgomery) and Terri Sewell (D-Selma) released a video celebrating a special bill awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to the men and women who, in March 1965, marched from Selma to Montgomery to protest for the voting rights they were already entitled to under the 14th and 15th amendments to the US Constitution; but had been denied by Alabama state and local officials for decades.

Alabama Constitutional Conservatives View “Unfair” Movie on IRS

The Alabama Constitutional Conservatives attended a special showing of the motion picture, “Unfair: Exposing the IRS” in Trussville on Tuesday, October 14. The Alabama Political Reporter attended the showing.

The single night showing of the film that attacks the Internal Revenue Service and advocates for the Fair Tax occurred in movie theaters across the country. The Fair Tax is a National sales tax. Replacing the IRS would end tax filing, tax audits, and the complex tax code that most of us just assume is how the country has always worked.

‘October Baby’ Director Jon Erwin Addresses South Shelby County Chamber of Commerce

Thursday, Alabama born and raised movie director, Jon Erwin spoke to the South Shelby County Chamber of Commerce.  Jon Erwin co-directed the movie, ‘October Baby,’ along  with his brother Andrew, who also wrote the screenplay.

Erwin told the audience of over 110, “I love Shelby County.”

Jon credited his father, former Alabama State Senator Hank Erwin, for instilling the love of storytelling in him and his brother.
