Time is almost up for absentee ballot applications

Deadlines for applying for an absentee ballot and returning ballots are quickly approaching.

If you plan to vote by absentee ballot in Alabama, you’re running out of time.

Today is the final day to request an absentee ballot by mail in the state. In-person requests for absentee ballots will be honored through the close of business on Thursday at all county absentee ballot managers’ offices.

The Nov. 8 election is now a week away and return deadlines are also getting closer. Mailed absentee ballots must be received by the county election manager no later than noon on Nov. 8. Ballots returned in person must arrive by the close of business on Nov. 7.

Absentee ballot applications can be downloaded online or requested by visiting or calling the local Absentee Election Manager’s office. Voters may also contact the Secretary of State’s Elections Division at (334) 242-7210 to request an absentee ballot application.
