Speaker Ledbetter names committee replacements for Rep. Kyle South

South stepped away from office to serve as President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.

After serving two terms representing District 16 in the Alabama House of Representatives, Kyle South has stepped away to take on a role as the President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.

South’s departure from the House left vacancies in several committees, which House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter, R-Rainsville, announced replacements for Friday.

The new committee members are as follows:

Rules Committee: Rep. Debbie Wood, R—Valley

Ways and Means General Fund Vice Chair: Rep. Chris Blackshear, R—Smiths Station 

Ways and Means General Fund Committee: Rep. Kerry Underwood, R—Tuscumbia

Insurance Committee: Rep. Matt Woods, R—Jasper

Financial Services Committee: Rep. James Lomax, R—Huntsville

Joint Transportation Committee: Rep. Rhett Marques, R—Enterprise

ARPA Oversight Committee: Rep. Jeff Sorrells, R—Hartford
