Drive Electric Alabama will host a free electric vehicle showcase Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to noon at Pepper Place in Birmingham.

The Halloween “frunk-or-treat” event will let visitors explore electric vehicles and ask owners about charging, range, maintenance and ownership costs.

“We find great value in being able to share the collective experience of Alabama EV owners with no pressure or sales pitch,” Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition President Michael Staley said.

Organizers postponed the event from October 10 because of severe weather concerns. Drive Electric Alabama has held 12 events this year, drawing 141 EV owners with vehicles from 19 manufacturers. November showcases are planned in Mobile and Hoover.

Alabama Power offers eligible EV owners a discounted overnight electricity rate and a $500 rebate for installing a Level 2 home charger.

Saturday’s showcase will take place in the parking lot next to Jeni’s Ice Cream at 2930 Third Ave. S. Additional event details are available online.
