In the latest Federal Election Commission filing for Alabama’s 5th Congressional District, covering April 30 through June 30, 2026, plumber and small-business owner Andrew Sneed’s congressional campaign reported raising more than $57,000 more than incumbent Representative Dale Strong’s campaign.
FEC reports show Sneed raised $177,789.53 during the period, compared with Strong’s $125,570.65. This is the second reporting period this election cycle in which Sneed has outraised Strong.
Additional takeaways from the reports include:
- Strong reported 37 individual donors during the period.
- Only 15 of those donors live in the 5th Congressional District, all in Madison County.
- More than 90 percent of the money Strong raised came from political action committees, lobbyists or business executives.
- Aside from one $1,000 leadership PAC contribution, Sneed’s contributions came from individual donors, with more than 90 percent coming from within the district.
- Sneed has accepted no contributions from AIPAC, corporate PACs or dark-money groups.
“I’m honored and humbled to continue to receive such incredible support, especially from so many individuals right here in the 5th District,” Sneed said. “I don’t take for granted, even for a moment, that these donations are a true sacrifice for many people as the cost of living continues to climb and it gets harder for folks to have anything left at the end of the month.
“I believe it’s worth noting where a candidate’s support does—and doesn’t—come from. Our campaign has been supported by individual donors, with the exception of a single $1,000 contribution from Representative Tim Kennedy’s leadership PAC. I met Kennedy in Selma, and he was kind enough to support us. Strong’s campaign, meanwhile, continues to receive overwhelming support from corporations and PACs. That matters.
“Our broad and enthusiastic support reflects what folks across the 5th District share with me every day: They are tired of the politics of division and career politicians whose priorities are out of touch with the people of North Alabama. They want a representative who will fight to lower costs, hear every voice and offer a plan to fix what’s deeply broken in Washington—and I will.
