Dominique Wilkins to headline Alabama State basketball tip-off dinner

Proceeds will support the Hornet NIL Fund as alumni, fans and community members gather to celebrate Alabama State basketball.

Alabama State University will welcome NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins as the special guest for the 2026 Basketball Tip-Off Dinner, scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the John Garrick Hardy Student Center on the Alabama State University campus.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hornet NIL Fund. The Basketball Tip-Off Dinner brings together sports legends, alumni, students and members of the Montgomery community while highlighting Alabama State basketball and the university’s athletic tradition.

This year’s featured guest, Wilkins, gives Hornet fans and basketball enthusiasts an opportunity to celebrate the game alongside one of basketball’s most recognizable legends.

The 2026 dinner follows last year’s sold-out event, which featured basketball legends Penny Hardaway and Cynthia Cooper.

With another prominent basketball figure coming to Montgomery this year, alumni, fans, community members and local businesses are encouraged to secure their spots early and support Alabama State basketball through the event.
