Charles Barkley nails it on Alabama’s US Senate race

In the special U.S. Senate General Election on Dec. 12 between Democrat Doug Jones and twice-ousted state Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, I guess I’m with former Auburn University and NBA great Charles Barkley.

Before Saturday’s Iron Bowl, Barkley made it simple to reporters before the game won impressively by Auburn:

“I mean Roy Moore is running with (former Donald Trump aide) Steve Bannon as his right-hand man, who is a white separatist. I’m not even get(ting) into the women stuff, but … how can you be a white separatist and represent all the constituents in your state? I mean, everybody is going crazy over the sexual allegations. Roy Moore to me, when he brought in Steve Bannon, should have been disqualified.”

A Real Grinch Who Ruined Christmas Dreams

December 9, 2015

By Joey Kennedy

‘Tis the season, right? Spread joy. Show kindness.

I’m afraid political candidates like Donald Trump are trumping the reason for the season. His hate-filled rants and absurd demands cannot be a good influence on our nation’s standing in the world or even on his supporters.

I have a shameful Christmas shopping story that could very well be tied into Trump’s clear racist remarks time and time again. I don’t know if the lady involved is a Trump supporter, but she clearly sees herself as “privileged.” She clearly doesn’t have the kind heart that should prevail at least during this time of the year.

By Brandon Moseley
Alabama Political Reporter

On Friday, November 20, Secretary of State John Kerry and Department of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson sent a joint letter to Alabama Governor Robert Bentley (R) defending President Obama’s Syrian refugee policy and denying Bentley’s request that the Administration share more information about the Syrian refugees that the Administration wants to resettle in Alabama with the actual state of Alabama.

Secretaries Kerry and Johnson wrote, “Our multi-agency system for vetting refugees is strong, and it has been significantly enhanced over the past few years. Indeed applicants for refugee status are screened more carefully than any other type of travelers to the United States. We have tremendous faith in this system’s ability to investigate, detect, and distrupt terrorist plotting in this country, as it has done repeatedly.”
