Tuscaloosa County Young Republicans Elect New Officers

On Thursday, October 8, the Tuscaloosa County Young Republicans met to hold elections for new officers to the club. During this meeting, outgoing officers gave final reports, and elections were held shortly after.

Chairman Dalton Dismukes was elected to another term.  Dismukes said in a statement, “I am pleased to announce that last night I was re-elected as Chairman of the Tuscaloosa County Young Republicans.  Our group has been very successful over the past year. We have grown our membership nearly 200 percent, grown our bank account a whopping 1400 percent, and we now have a notable presence in our county party and in the community. We have big plans for the coming year and I am extremely excited to continue our growth!”

The other newly elected slate of officers are:

Vice Chairman – Matthew Hood

Secretary – Davis Smallwood

Treasurer – Cody Anthony

State Committee Man – Mason Dyess

State Committee Woman – MyChale Cooper

The newly elected officers will take office immediately and serve a one year term. During the meeting, Chairman Dismukes appointed director positions which were approved unanimously by the club’s membership. Those positions appointed are as followed:

Finance Director – Phil Fikes

Outreach Director – Faith Feaga

The Tuscaloosa YRs announced in their statement that over the year they hosted many notable guests including: Senator Richard Shelby; Speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives Mike Hubbard; and Virginia Congressman Dave Brat.  Over the last 12 months they have increased membership by almost 200 percent.

Vice Chairman Matt Hood said in a statement, “We are excited to continue the experienced growth that we have had over the past year and are ready to stem that growth with a new team of great leaders.”

Chairman Dismukes said, “We have thrilling plans that are going to be coming in the next few weeks with our group. This year has come to an end, but the best achievements are yet to come.”

The next Tuscaloosa County Young Republicans meeting will be held on October 29th, 2015, at 7:00 pm at Hotel Capstone.

Political consultant Brent Buchanan will be addressing the group.

Dismukes said, “If you would like to get involved with the Tuscaloosa County YRs let me or Faith Feaga know!”
